Shade Projects is happy to continue its Emerging Artist Summer Series with John Carbis presenting 2015: A Phoenix Odyssey in Bokeh Gallery. Marking his debut at the monoOrchid and his first solo exhibition of his photography, which draws comparisons through his journey through the streets of Phoenix with his interest in Science and the exploration of the universe, as well as creating a dialogue about the connections between science and art. Viewers can definitely sense the artist’s love of downtown Phoenix and an obvious fascination and love for the raw urban landscape. “Carbis’ photography pushes the viewer to look deeper at their surroundings and discover the beauty it offers to all willing to look a little closer resulting in fascinating imagery of our great city that shed a new light illuminating what Phoenix truly is all about”, says Shade Projects Curator, Nicole Royse.
