Shade Projects is proud to present the I HAVE A NAME PROJECT Art and Advocacy exhibition by Jon Linton, showcased in Bokeh Gallery at the monOrchid. Artist and philanthropist, Jon Linton began gathering imagery documenting the homeless on the streets of Phoenix and has volunteered both time and resources at a local shelter to better understand the plight of the ‘un-homed’ since 2007.
The project's enduring mission aspires to create greater understanding for nearly 3.5 million people that call the streets their home. “It is our sincere hope that this campaign provides the viewer with an opportunity to pause from the noise and frenetic pace of life and perhaps change the way we see or, more pointedly, do not see the homeless,” said Linton.
On Friday, February 13th, Pineapple Triangle will host a special event from 5:30-9pm with local artisans offering one-of-a-kind creations with proceeds benefiting I Have A Name’s mural project, plus a special performance by singer/songwriter D.G. Scherrer.
The artist reception will be held on Third Friday, February 20th from 6-10pm with the artist giving a brief talk about this incredible project and his work. I HAVE A NAME PROJECT Art and Advocacy will be on display in Bokeh Gallery from February 6th until February 28th, 2015.
