'Game' by KC Woolf Haxton

Game by Los Angeles based artist KC Woolf Haxton will showcase from Friday, August 23rd until Friday, November 1st.

Game by KC Woolf Haxton

Conception. Contrast. Light and Dark, Fast and Slow. Resistance and Acceptance.

There is a singular moment where opposing sides of an idea meet. The place where

neither action has begun nor ended. Where all that exists is the potential to become either.

So begins the exercise. Holding these events equally, acknowledging the simultaneous existence of the black, the white, and the spectrum held within. This new vista brings evolution to the shape that was previously a dream. The exercise is expansion.

Ascension. The location of infinite possibility through expansion. It embraces the totality of the exercise, going beyond form; attaining concept.

KC Woolf Haxton has been a working artist since 2004.

With years of success in the commerce of art, his focus is now celebrating authenticity in a new way; his own.

He lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.

"Decode the Distant" by Matt Priebe

“Decode the Distant” by monOrchid’s represented artist Matt Priebe will showcase from Friday, January 18th until Friday, March 1st.

Photography sometimes feels like a mechanism that forces us to examine time itself and how we contemplate progress in our life and society. “Decode the Distant“ explores this interaction and these questions…

Artist Matt Priebe incorporates photographic emulsion, painting, video installation and electronic sculpture to his works. Priebe aims to capture and manipulate digital imagery in order to create a negative for analog development - focusing on the concept of time, mortality and the images associated with reminiscence. With this photography emulsion process, he exposes images to a variety of surfaces and textures to achieve a true sense  of nostalgia from an unfamiliar environment. Priebe currently calls Copenhagen home but divides his time between his studios there and in Phoenix, Arizona.

"Eroding Languages" by Michael Viglietta

Join us for the opening reception of monOrchid's represented contemporary abstract artist Michael Viglietta. "Eroding Languages: People, Places And Things" will showcase on Friday, September 21st from 6:00-9:00 PM with a cash bar and parking at 1015 N. 2nd St.

With a background in television and movie production, the New York born artist eventually shifted gears to pursue his passion of painting. Between layers of materials and the words, numbers and sayings scattered within, Viglietta creates a unique dialogue between each painting. In it's entirety, Eroding Languages is driven by Viglietta's observations of the spaces around him; shaped by courage, frustration, joy and fear. The process of building up acrylics, plasters, wax and paper clippings allows for him to process the perplex world he finds himself in - discovering answers as he creates.

"I build my own history by layering sediment and eroding it, letting artifacts once hidden in the paintings find their way to the surface..." - Viglietta

"Eroding Languages: People, Places And Things" will be displayed at monOrchid Gallery until December 7th.
